The Reasoning
Why Some Puppies Cost More
Every puppy we raise gets the same care, the same health testing, and the same guarantee. Price differences come down to how uncommon a puppy is — not how much we value it.
Color & pattern rarity
Some colors and patterns appear in far fewer litters than others. Dapple, dilute dapple and dapple piebald are the least common combinations we produce, and they sit at the top of our range. Standard solids and pointed patterns sit at the base.
Coat
Longhaired puppies take longer to mature into their coat and are consistently in higher demand than smooth coats, so they price toward the upper end of whichever range they fall in.
Gender
Females are requested more often than males, and fewer are available in any given litter.
Breeding rights
Nearly every puppy is placed as a loved family pet on Limited AKC registration with a spay/neuter agreement. Full AKC registration with breeding rights is +$500 and is granted only where we have approved the home in advance — it is not offered on every puppy or in every litter.
* Full AKC registration available to approved breeding or show homes only. All other placements receive Limited AKC registration with a standard spay/neuter agreement.

Our Commitment
Health Guarantee
Key Terms
Puppy must be seen by a licensed vet within 72 hours of pickup to activate the guarantee. Coverage includes life-threatening congenital defects — heart defects, liver shunts, and severe genetic disorders. Does not cover parasites, viruses, injuries, IVDD, allergies, undescended testicles, or owner negligence. In a covered event, we offer a replacement puppy from a future litter. We do not issue cash refunds on puppy prices.
Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA) is specifically excluded for blue and isabella puppies — no breeder can guarantee a dilute puppy will never develop CDA. We DNA health test all breeding adults including PRA-crd4, PRA5, and other dachshund-relevant markers. Full health test results available on request.
Payment
Accepted Payment Methods
Full remaining balance is due at or before pickup. We do not release puppies until payment is received in full.
Financing via PayPal carries a 4% surcharge. We meet at an agreed-upon public location near our Georgia home. Ground transport or flight nanny may be available at additional cost — we do not ship puppies as unaccompanied air cargo.
